This is weird! It's a tongue-in-cheek suspension, a visible stretching and a visible zig zag all in one, and all without frames, envelopes or boxes; just two cards and a popsicle stick!
Effect: Two cards and a popsicle stick are freely shown. The stick is used to pin one of the cards vertically against the other card, which is held horizontally. From the front, it looks like the card is clinging to the other one. But it's not much of a trick, since the audience knows about the popsicle stick. But then the real magic starts. The magician asks the spectator to imagine that the vertical card is growing, and suddenly, slowly, and apparently by itself, the vertical card starts to grow until it's half again as long as it was at the start! Then, at the magician's command, it visibly shrinks just as eerily and immediately the cards are turned over to show everything as it should be. Now, with the vertical card clearly visible beneath the stick, the top half slowly, and again without touching the card itself, does a zig zag over to the side. At this point the whole setup is turned over to show this strange condition from every angle! After the zag visibly rights itself, the restored card is immediately removed and both cards and the stick are once again shown from both sides.
