"I received your Slate of Mind and I'm impressed by the quality and perfection of the effect.  This is better and easier than I thought. I can't wait to perform it at my upcoming shows!"

"I am so very pleased with 'Slate of Mind Revisited'. Arrived today, well made, quality and first class trick. Thanks Dean." William V. Rauscher, Author mysticlightpress.com

Slate of Mind Revisited    I own the rights to this great "Aldini improved" UF Grant trick.  I bought the rights  to this particular method from Aldini in the 70's, and sold hundreds. Now that I'm producing magic again, it's back in an even nicer version. The design and details that make it work so well are my own, as are the presentational touches., The handling is as clean as possible, and it's so easy you can concentrate on presentation. Effect: Six cards are displayed backs out around a slate blackboard. A spectator verbally selects one and even changes his mind if he wants. The selected card is removed and placed in a holder at the top of the slate, without ever leaving their sight. When the slate is turned around, it is seen that a prediction written on the slate matches the card they selected. The trick can stop there and be really effective. But, if you want to continue, you can say that what is really in play is thought control. You caused them to choose that card, and decided long before that they would. You then show proof of your claims. This can take the form of a duplicate card in an envelope that's been in view, a note in an envelope that was handed out before the show, to be opened at the end of the trick, etc. Use your imagination.

Newspaper RevelationRead Carefully: For special shows, a proof I've used that turns this into a closer is to place an ad in the personal column of the local paper stating that you will cause someone in attendance to choose that particular card. It gets a huge reaction. In fact, here is the ad I placed in the "Fort Collins Coloradoan" for my dealer booth at the 2006 "Magic in the Rockies" convention. This little bit of extra expense can really turn this into something people will talk about. In fact, the first time I used this was for a private show at my house in about 1976. My best friend wanted a friend of his to see some magic. It was the first slate I'd built and I did the newspaper ad ending. His friend went out and bought several papers, to prove to himself it was really in there and to show people!
